I didn’t plan to write this.
Honestly, I had another tidy list of productivity tips queued up—smart, efficient, strategic. But something tugged at me. Not a loud voice, just a whisper:
“What if this month, you didn’t push? What if you paused?”
So here we are.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on a quote that won’t let go of me. It suggests that to recover our humanity, to return to the real world, we must reclaim four things: serendipity, community, patience, and risk.
At first, those words felt almost out of place in the world of leadership, impact, and business. But then I realized—they’re not out of place. They’re the missing pieces.
And I’ve seen it. In coaching sessions where a leader allows space for an unexpected insight to emerge. In strategy meetings where laughter builds more traction than slides. In stories where the most moving moments weren’t scripted—but stumbled upon.
This May, I want to invite you into a different kind of conversation. Not about doing more, but about becoming more human in how we lead, build, and serve.
Each week, we’ll explore one of these four forgotten powers:
- Serendipity, the quiet genius of the unexpected.
- Community, the heartbeat of belonging and bold collaboration.
- Patience, the trust-fueled pace of true transformation.
- Risk, the brave leap into the unknown, and toward possibility.
These aren’t just lofty ideas. They’re at the core of how we work with clients and teams. They’re the compass we return to when systems feel too heavy, or when the “shoulds” start drowning the “why.”
So, let’s pause together. Let’s listen. And maybe—just maybe—we’ll recover something real.
What’s one moment of serendipity you’ve experienced lately? One that made you stop and think: “I couldn’t have planned that”?
Drop it in the comments or reply back. I’d love to hear it.
