“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” — Joseph Campbell
As 2024 ends, I’ve been reflecting on what I’ve learned and how I’ve grown this year. With the shorter days and longer nights, this time of year invites us to slow down and ask: Where am I right now? Where do I want to go? Who do I want to be?
This year has been all about realignment for me—both personally and professionally. I’ve been balancing my practical, goal-oriented side with my emotional and spiritual growth. As I look toward 2025, I want these parts of me to work together so I can move forward purposefully while staying true to my values.
Reflecting on 2024: Growth, Loss, and Purpose
As I said, I’ve been on a journey of exploration. Even after decades as a coach, facilitator, and consultant, I’ve realized there’s always more to learn. I pushed myself to expand my skills, earning certifications in advanced Enneagram work and Conscious Facilitation. We also broadened our visual storytelling efforts, helping a statewide network while staying true to our heart-centered approach.
Rediscovering the thrill of learning was exciting. It reminded me that growth is a lifelong process. Every step forward opens new doors, whether it’s professional growth or uncovering deeper personal insights.
But this year wasn’t just about achievements. It also brought loss—heartbreaking in its many layers. That loss was a powerful reminder to pause, connect, and deliberately choose the path forward. It taught me that personal and professional growth are deeply linked and that sometimes, the most meaningful progress comes from sitting with the hard stuff.
Through it all, I reconnected with my “why”—the purpose that fuels my work and shapes my life. I’ve learned that as I grow personally, I show up more genuinely for my clients, loved ones, and myself. Looking ahead to 2025, I’m committed to weaving together work, relationships, health, exploration, and awe into a more balanced, purpose-driven life.
Lessons to Carry into 2025
Reflecting on this year, a few lessons stand out that will guide my approach in the new year:
- Balance is Holistic
Balance isn’t just about work and life—it’s about nurturing all parts of ourselves. Whether balancing ambition with rest or strategy with intuition, finding harmony is an ongoing practice. - Loss Can Be a Teacher
While painful, loss has taught me to slow down and focus on what truly matters. It has encouraged me to live more intentionally and show up fully, even in uncertain moments. - Purpose is the Anchor
Reconnecting with my “why” has kept me grounded. Purpose doesn’t just drive my work—it shapes how I approach relationships, wellness, creativity, and the quiet moments in between. Aligning everything with that purpose brings clarity and fulfillment.
And now…
Stepping into 2025
I want to build on the lessons of 2024. Here are some of my intentions:
- Prioritizing Wellness: Self-care will remain a daily practice as I honor the connection between health, creativity, and joy.
- Staying Curious: Whether through professional learning or personal exploration, I’m committed to continuing to grow and seeing the world with fresh eyes.
- Finding Joy in Everyday Moments: I want to continue embracing the awe of simple experiences and staying present to the beauty and possibility around me.
- Deepening Connections: I’ll continue strengthening relationships with my family, clients, and community. This includes recognizing and owning my missteps.
