“This journey reminded me that it’s not about having all the answers but about being open to what emerges. Whether guiding a team through a challenge or supporting someone’s personal growth, leaning into inner wisdom allows us to approach the unknown with calm, trust, and curiosity.” — Sarah Boxx
Throughout my career, I’ve relied heavily on structured thinking and careful planning. But I’ve also learned, often from missteps, to listen to my intuition—a quiet inner voice that’s guided me in the background. Over time, this balance between logic and intuition has helped me express my ideas and goals more confidently in both work and personal life. Initially, my journey toward trusting this inner wisdom was subtle and slow, like a whisper reminding me I was supported and guided.
Today, I feel more joyful and confident about leaning into emerging insights.
The Power of ‘Leaning In’
“Leaning In” involves trusting your inner wisdom and letting it guide your decisions. It’s about tuning into your intuition and letting it lead. By leaning into my inner wisdom, I’ve found I can transcend the traditional role of a facilitator or coach. Rather than always adhering to a fixed script, I now listen deeply, noticing cues that might have gone unnoticed.
This approach has created space for my clients to connect with their wisdom. I’m discovering that the most potent breakthroughs come when I allow the process to unfold naturally, supporting others in finding answers that resonate with their unique journeys.
Recently, I worked with a client facing a significant business decision. In the past, we outlined a logical step-by-step plan. But this time, I held space and asked questions, encouraging them to explore their perspectives and motivations. By the end of our conversation, they had clarity, renewed purpose, and a clear path forward.
This experience underscored the power of trusting my and my clients’ insights and supporting them with effective business processes.
How ‘Leaning In’ Has Changed My Work
This shift in approach has taught me invaluable lessons about presence and authenticity. By trusting my inner wisdom, I’ve become more attuned to others. It’s a more fluid, compassionate way of working that honors each person’s journey rather than prescribing a fixed path.
For example, when helping a team navigate a complex challenge, I now focus on creating a supportive environment where everyone’s insights are valued. This approach has led to more innovative solutions and more robust team dynamics.
I feel a deeper connection to my work and the people I support.
Three Ways to ‘Lean In’ to Your Wisdom
- Listen to Your Gut Feelings: Start by tuning into that quiet, intuitive voice within. Instead of immediately rationalizing decisions, allow yourself to feel through them. Intuition often speaks softly but persistently.
- Hold Space for Reflection: Give yourself regular time to reflect. Whether through journaling, meditation, or simply sitting with a question, creating space can help your inner wisdom emerge without the noise of external demands.
- Empower Others to Trust Themselves: When working with others, encourage them to explore their insights rather than relying solely on outside guidance. This shared trust builds a supportive environment where everyone’s contributions are valued.
This week, I invite you to lean into your inner wisdom. Consider a recent decision or situation and reflect on how your intuition might guide you if you allow it to lead. If you’re comfortable, share your experience with me in the comments or connect with someone close to you about what you discovered. Let’s celebrate the journey of trusting ourselves and empowering others to do the same together.
